What is the CUIT?

The CUIT is the code with which the AFIP identifies self-employed workers, businesses, and companies in Argentina.

CUIL (Código Único de Identificación Laboral)

Structure of the CUIT:

  • First 2 digits: Type (20/23/24/27 for individuals, 30/33/34 for companies)
  • 8 central digits: DNI (individuals) or assigned number (companies)
  • Last digit: Check digit

Common types by first digit:

  • 20-33-34: Companies and societies
